Aspirations of Photography

Hi everyone!

As you guys know, I love taking photos (as well as posing for them!) I have always loved photography since studying it alongside fashion in college, but I had never considered it as something I could do as a career. Since my friend Grace starting taking up wedding photography, she has always encouraged me to come along and assist her so she could get different camera angles throughout the day. I love it. I have never felt so elated trying to capture details, emotions and expressions throughout the day. I'm starting to think this is something that I could really dedicate myself to.

I am also beginning to organise mini photo shoots, just to practise and build up my skills. Luckily my friends don't mind being my subjects! I love the editing process of photography possibly just as much as taking the photos. I find it very therapeutic, going through and choosing the best, taking away a blemish here and there, or enhancing the colour. I work with Photoshop and Illustrator everyday at work which helps greatly!

So guys, here are a few of the photos that I have taken with my own camera during some of the weddings I have attended and some cute photo shoots I've held. I hope you like them and please let me know what you think!

Obviously I still have a long way to go! But I would really love to gain some more experience and knowledge and hopefully get better and better :) All photos taken with my Canon 550D and edited by me! Yay!

There is a light that never goes out

Introducing my handsome friend Jamie! I met Jamie when I was at Uni in Northampton and we’ve kinda stayed in touch ever since due to us both being crazy fools and lovers of Pokemon! Check out Jamie's blog at frostbitesback. His friend Nick just bought an old creepy 1970′s house and so we thought, lets go and visit and take some photos! We took some amazingly moody photos of him, love the setting so much!
We chose this window to shoot in front of as it had a really low hanging lamp, creepy patterned curtains and some damp stains which all add to the effect don’t you think! Considering Jamie hasn’t modelled before I think he did quite well! These are my two favourites.
Obviously me and Grace had a go at modelling too. This is one of my favourite shots that I took of Grace, she looks so beautiful, and it proves that you don’t have to be in a perfect place to still look stunning.
Grace is wearing:
Bird print dress – Topshop
Fur Stole – H&M
Heart Bracelet – Accessorize
Beautiful shot that I took of Grace spinning around, she reminds me of a moth fluttering toward the light.
Here is me doing a bit of the posing!

I am wearing:
Dress – Amptill Antiques Emporium
Necklace – New Look (old)
Hat – John Lewis (Grace’s)
Hope that you enjoy the photos, remember to check out Grace’s blog Doll with a Frown, for more beautiful images, and our website Grace and the heart for more of our photography! What do you think of our photos?
